Elba and Napoleon and the love

View from the Bay of Scaglieri, Elba, Corsica.

Napoleon lived in his exile in the villa in San Martino on Elba in 1814. From a powerful man who was just the emperor over the whole of Europe, he became a man who was only allowed to be the ruler of a beautiful, small island kingdom.

Isn't it often helpful in our lives to withdraw from too many fronts and focus on the small, important things in life in order to let them thrive all the more beautifully? It certainly takes courage to commit to less. And yet you can become so much richer by doing so.

"Courage is like love. It feeds on hope."

Napoleon I Bonaparte

(1769 - 1821)
